Service Designer

October 2017 – present

Exove is an digital change company that specialises in digital strategy, software development, service design and business consulting. As a Service Designer at Exove I work in close collaboration with the client as well as the coders and other designers in the team.

My role consists of planning, using and iterating on the best methods for research and gathering insights from all stakeholders in order to create holistic services to fulfil people’s needs and carry out company strategy. In designing digital services I use a variety of research methods from interviews and workshops to prototyping and testing concepts to make sure that the UX and service promise for the customers can be fulfilled with a matching set of thoughtfully designed internal processes.

To create change with digital tools, I start and end with the people who end up using them.

Project Manager and Design Research Lead for Masters Industry Project

October 2017 – present

I am the Project Manager and Design Research Lead in my team for the IDBM Masters programme Industry Project. The project is run by Aalto Global Impact and it is a part of an initiative to strengthen collaboration and problem based learning in East African Universities.

The client organisation for the project is the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) and the issue to tackle is Food Safety in Kenya. The project is run simultaneously both in Aalto University and the University of Nairobi. In both locations the multi-disciplinary student teams plan their projects and find ways to tackle the brief both independently and in collaboration with each other, before, during and after a field trip in Kenya.

My role as a project manager entails making sure that the project deliverables and goals set by the team and the client are being met and that all team members have an opportunity to learn and develop their areas of interest. I am also responsible for planning and facilitating the collaboration between the student teams from Aalto and University of Nairobi.

Service Designer

April 2016 – June 2017

I worked as a Service Designer and Consultant on a variety of client projects. Our clients at 15/30 ranged from companies in for example media, banking, construction, household products and pharmaceuticals.

My day to day duties at 15/30 varied a lot depending on the project. They mostly concluded of being in contact with the project partners and clients, consulting and designing service concepts and strategy for client projects and facilitating workshops with end-users and C-level managers. My days also included planning and time management, carrying out and analysing user-research, futures research, graphic design, video production, prototyping and producing content for our internal development projects.
